Tecno Phantom X2 Review - Beyond The Extraordinary ?

Tecno has recently unveiled their new Phantom X2 smartphone, which is the successor to the original Phantom X. The device is available in two variants: one that includes a retractable camera and another that doesn't. We took a closer look at both of them to see how they compare. Compared to its predecessor, the new Phantom X2 is much more fast and responsive, and it has some impressive features as well.

The Tecno Phantom X2 comes in a variety of colors. The standard model has a 64MP camera, while the Pro version has a 50MP sensor. The latter also includes a retractable lens. The device uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor, a larger pixel size than the one found on the original Phantom X. It also features Double Super PD autofocus and a wide aperture. The cameras on both models have a f/2.0 aperture, which makes them a good option for taking portrait shots.

The front-facing camera on the Phantom X2 Pro is a 32MP shooter. There is also a 13MP wide-angle lens that doubles as a macro lens. The camera also has a shallow depth of field, making the subject look sharp in relation to the background. There is a mode that allows the user to change the lighting on the subject.

The display on the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro is a 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of FHD+. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and an always-on mode. It offers a decent selection of clock styles, and the colors on the panel are vibrant. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass, and the back is made from recycled ocean plastic. It's also water-resistant.

The Phantom X2's battery is a 5160mAh unit that lasts for a long time. The phone will come with a charger, but it lacks wireless charging and a microSD card slot. Its battery can also be charged via 45W technology. However, Tecno has not yet announced any plans for future updates to the phone's software.

HiOS 12 is the customized Android software that runs on the Tecno Phantom X2 5G. It's based on the latest version of the OS, and it comes with a few extra features. The user interface has floating windows similar to MIUI, but there's also a productivity tool, AI gallery, and connection speed optimization engine. In addition to these, the app drawer is alphabetized and you can use two instances of messaging services. It's also possible to disable some of the bloatware that comes with the system.

In terms of features, the Tecno Phantom X2 offers a few things that are missing from rivals. For instance, the portrait camera on the Phantom X2 doesn't have manual controls like the iPhone 14, and there aren't many white balance controls either. The camera also doesn't produce pictures that stand out from the crowd in terms of image quality.

While the Tecno Phantom X2 is a good smartphone, it's hard to recommend it over the Galaxy S22. The phone has an impressive design, but it's not the best value for money on the market.
