On November 18 the Leica Leitz Phone 2 will be launched in Japan. It will cost JPY 225,360, or roughly $1,540. It is available in one color - Leica white. It will be available for purchase in the US for $1,390 and in Japan, it will cost just over half that.

The Leica Phone 2 is a reimagined smartphone from the Leica brand. It features similar hardware and features to the classic camera. It comes with the Leica Red Dot and a magnetic circular lens cap, but omits the leather back and knurled frame of the original. In addition, it weighs only 212 grams, and comes with a protective hard case.

The Leica Leitz Phone 2 has a 6.6-inch OLED screen with 16:10 aspect ratio and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The device also has 512 GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot for expanding memory. Its battery is 5000 mAh, but the company has not said if it supports fast charging.

The Leitz Phone 2 is a successor to the Leica Phone 1 launched last year. It costs 187,920 yen or about US$1,700. It will be sold exclusively by SoftBank and is expected to launch in the country in July. The internals are similar to those of the Sharp Aquos R6, and the camera is circular.

The Leica Leitz Phone 1 is a compact phone that looks very similar to the Sharp Q2. It has a similar design language and is reminiscent of the Leica classic camera. It features a magnetic lens cap and a matte black body. In Japan, it will cost 187,920 yen or about $1,700.

The Leitz Phone 1 sports a 6.6-inch IGZO OLED screen with a resolution of 2,730 x 1,260 pixels and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The camera also features a 6.6-inch IGZO OLED display with a variable refresh rate. It also supports Face Unlock and is waterproof and dust resistant.

The Leica Leitz Phone 2's body was based on the Leica M8 camera. The Leitz logo on the frame is a tribute to the founder of the Leica brand, Ernst Leitz II, who invented the world's first 35mm camera. As with the Leica M8 camera, the phone's camera features fine engravings.
