TCL 40R 5G Quietly Launched With MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC - Full Specs, Features, Price, Review and More

The Dimensity 700 SoC is the latest chipset from MediaTek, which is quietly aiming to bring 5G connectivity to the masses. While the company has a step-down and top-end Dimensity series already available in the market, this newest chip should allow users to experience 5G connectivity for the first time at an affordable price.

The Dimensity 700 SoC integrates two Arm Cortex-A76 cores and runs at 2.2GHz. It supports up to 90Hz displays and FullHD+ resolutions. It also supports dual 5G SIM cards. It also has an AI engine and supports voice assistants.

This new TCL smartphone will sport a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. It will also have a front camera with a waterdrop notch. It will likely feature a 5000mAh battery. It is likely to run Android 12 out of the box.

The TCL 20R 5G runs Android 11 out of the box. An Android 12 upgrade is planned for the device in the future. It has a 6.5-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate, and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. It also has 64GB of onboard storage and supports microSD cards.

The TCL 40R 5G is available in two colour options: Stardust Purple and Starlight Black. It will be available for purchase from October. It is priced at EUR 240 in Europe. You can pick up this new model if you live in Europe or in the Netherlands.
